Design requires collaboration, empathy and innovation.
Connecting with others at a deep level brings out our best work.
As a UX leader and musician, I create a culture of collaboration and build connections with people to produce positive experiences.
My work has spanned multiple industries and disciplines.
I have led teams creating various experiences including social software, recruitment chatbots, and insurance applications. I’ve also led initiatives to establish better agile practices for UX, drive accessibility into our UI implementation processes, and institute usage analytics for decision making.
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risk, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun.”
Mary Lou Cook
Connecting with others
Whether it’s through music, cultural celebrations or travel, I’ve enjoyed learning about people and traditions from around the world. For instance, I’m a fan of international musicians such as Youssou n’Dour, Angelique Kidjo, Teapacks, Femi Kuti, Bebel Gilberto, Danilo Perez, and Hothouse Flowers. As a fourth generation Jewish American, I have been active in Jewish organizations throughout my life, and spent a semester in Israel during college.
As a member of my current employer’s diversity council, I led the creation of an organization-wide diversity council newsletter, ERG best practices playbook, and Inclusion toolkit training materials. Within the team I lead currently, we have employees based in the U.S., Europe, and India so it’s important for us to gain a better understanding of each other so we can build stronger relationships.
